The goal of this service is to change the working key for a new key without having to replace the locks. Common scenarios when a rekey is suggested:

common residential locks
EURO PROFILE LOCKS
Seen on french doors or 3 point lock systems, these are used for higher end lock trims. Most of them can be picked open but there are many variants and sometimes they do require drilling the lock to unlock.
KWIKSET SMART LOCK
These lock cylinders can’t be opened by using picking tools, only drilling it out will do it.
Why? The little dot next to the keyway indicates the mechanism is not pickable, that’s just how kwikset made it.
ELECTRONIC LOCKS WITH NO KEY CYLINDER
Pray you don’t get locked out on one of these. Only way being locked out is when the battery drains, as there’s no key cylinder our only way in is by drilling this smart lock and replacing it with a new one.
